Kath Murrell has offered to act as the as the Delegate for ABBA to the Australian Blind Sports Federation.
The ABSF have adopted a new constitution incorporating recreation as well as sport.
There has been an important change to this body they are now Blind Sports Australia and have a new CEO in Rob McPhail. Rob is working very hard in trying to obtain funding for blind sport.

ABBA are please to announce the appointment of Mitchell Anjou to the position of National Classifier. Mitchell is the Clinical Director for the Victorian College of Optometry and has volunteered his services to assist ABBA. This position has been introduced due to the introduction of a new classification system by the International Blind Bowls Association. The change to the sight classification system was made at the Annual meeting of IBBA in May and could see some changes on the bowling green.
FORUM:
ABBA held a very successful forum at the Quality Hotel, Tullamarine on the 29/30 August 2009. The forum was chaired by Rob McPhail and members had intersting discussions on many subjects. Items such as the new sight classification forms, forthcoming international events, national championships, fundraising, web site, and a general discussion at the conclusion of the forum. Members were also addressed by Tony Sherwell from Bowls Australia who spoke on the relationship that Bowls Australia has with disabled groups.
APPLICATIONS are called for the positions of Manager of the Australian team to visit Israel in May 2010 and for the position of National Coach.
